Shahar Kaufman is a music producer, multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, piano, percussion, programming and many ethnic instruments), mixing engineer with over 20 years of producing experiences in various musical genres.
Born in the Galilee region of Israel, his major influences included classical music, folk, middle-eastern, jazz and electronica. He learned guitar, which inspired him to study a variety of middle-eastern plucked instruments including; Persian tar, Oud, and Algerian mandol. In his productions, he also plays bass, piano, electric guitars and various percussion instruments including electronic programming with unique signature sound design.
He established the Onyx Studio in 2003, and has produced and performed with a respected list of artists and albums including; Amal Murkus (Palestinian vocal artist), Naseem Dakwar (Violin/Oud Master), Yair Dalal, Piris and Mark Eliyahu, Zohar Fresco (Percussion Master) Alex Ander, Itamar Doari, Digital Samsara, Faran Ensemble, Yaron Pe’er, Shai Ben-Tzur, Idan Balas and many other artists from abroad that came to record especially in this unique recording environment.
Composed & edited many soundtracks for films & videos including working on Brodway musical “Soul Doctor” for screening in video thetres in surround sound.
Shahar was taching sound and production at the Maqamat Middle Eastern Academy in Sefad, Israel, and for the past few years has been researching the depth of frequencies beyond music and music production. He has been studying the physical impact of sound and vibration on the human body and consciousness as a healing tool.
After preforming and producing lots of music during the years, now Shahar has moved to Portugal with the studio after 1 year in Spain (Sevilla). offering recordings and services in an amazing nature spot with everything that is needed for the best musical creation atmosphere.
